Good Morning Ladies!                                                                    October 7, 2008 The moment that you have been awaiting has finally arrived!  We are officially at four weeks and counting, less than 28 full days left before we elect Sen. John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin . We have our work cut out for us and it is time to do what we do best—Get Out The Vote.  We have a major opportunity that will help us meet our electorate goals. This is Mavericks and Marshalls, a major deployment of over 10,000 volunteers into battleground states.  Our goal is to deploy at least 140 from our Georgia Women’s coalition.  Please pass this to every Republican woman that you know.  We cannot do this without you.  Here is the process for this exciting venture!  Register to deploy at https://secure.johnmccain.com/secure/marshallsignup.aspx .  At the start of next week, a new Women for McCain website will be launched and it will include links to all the volunteer opportunities and GOTV activities.  Volunteers can also register on the new website at http://women.johnmccain.com/women.htm   MAKE SURE THAT YOU GIVE YOUR STATE AS GEORGIA The registration page will ask for contact information and will also ask the volunteer to check the coalition for  which they wish to volunteer.  We want as many women as possible to check the Women for McCain box.  That way we can track our performance.   Volunteers can deploy starting two weeks before the election and must be willing to stay through election day -- Nov. 4.   The volunteer will get a phone call from the deployment team here at headquarters. They will be interviewed to find out their level of volunteer experience and the length of time the volunteer can spend in a targeted state.    If the volunteer has past experience campaigning, has been through a campaign training school, or has managed volunteers, they can serve in the Marshals program.  All others will be Mavericks.  The costs for deployment must be absorbed by the volunteer. The volunteer and HQ team will make a mutual decision on the best target state to send the volunteer.  If the volunteer has housing in a particular targeted state (friend or family to stay with), the HQ team will send the volunteer to that state.  Others who are willing to pay for transportation and housing will be sent to the state most appropriate for the volunteer.   The deployment HQ team will hand off the volunteer to the State Deployment Coordinator via an email to both parties.  At that point, the state Deployment Coordinator will arrange with the volunteer his arrival and departure dates, the shifts and hours of work to be done, and make recommendations for accommodations.
