McCain Leadership Training Meeting
August 2, 2008Georgia McCain Leaders from across the state met in Perry on August 2 for a Leadership training session. This was prior to the Governor's Annual Fish Fry.
Reception in Atlanta on August 7 in support of John McCain with special guest Orson Swindle, former POW and longtime friend of John McCain . This was a fundraiser at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel on the Galleria Parkway. Report below from Leigh Ann Gillis:"We had a successful event with Orson Swindle on Thursday, August 7 in Cobb County. There were veterans, grass roots activists and longtime associates of Orson. Everyone was very excited and enthusiastic. We gave out lots of signs and bumper stickers as well as raised some money for the campaign." -- Leigh Ann Gillis

Elizabeth Morrell of Cobb County and Bill Knowles of Bibb County lead the Community Events Coalition.
7. Suzi Voyles, Chairman of the Georgia Women for McCain Coalition announces that this group now has a website up and running at www.GeorgiaWomenForMcCain.org. Last week, the Georgia Women for McCain coalition was announced in Atlanta with McCain Senior Economic Advisor Carly Fiorina. First Lady Mary Perdue joined GA GOP Chair Sue Everhart on stage to welcome Carly Fiorina to Georgia. 8. Veterans for McCain Co-Chair John Sours announced that last Tuesday, hundreds of Veterans throughout the state rallied in support of John McCain during official unveiling of the Georgia Veterans for McCain Coalition. 9. Jade Morey of UGA is Chairman of Students for McCain Coalition. She also attended the Georgia Women for McCain Coalition kickoff in Atlanta on July 24.
10. Scott Rials is Chairman of the Sportsman for McCain Coalition 11. Lee Ann Gillis discusses the topic of A Personal Connection and why it matters. Her husband is currently serving in the military in Iraq. 12. Gary Black heads up the Agriculture Coalition for McCain.
